Standing Up

Standing up can be a dangerous proposition, especially when knowing you can easily be knocked down. Many are content to “sit” things out and not take action or get involved for fear of failure, ridicule, un-acceptance or the like.

It takes strength of character and integrity to make a stand. Ever heard the term, “He’s a stand up guy.”? This is where it comes from. People recognize and honor people of principle, integrity and character. Even if one personally does not like such a person, they will respect his/her stance.

Boaz was such a man. In chapter 4 of The Book of Ruth, Boaz goes before the community to negotiate for Naomi’s land and Ruth’s hand in marriage. He knows there is a relative closer than he that may redeem the land. Being a man of integrity and honesty, he give this man the opportunity to be the “kinsman redeemer” and buy back what Naomi has lost.

The gentleman agrees until he learns that he has to take on Ruth, the Moab outsider who is not a virgin. He views this a disgrace to his lineage. Apparently, Boaz has no such worries; or simply doesn’t care what others in the community thinks.

Boaz seals the deal in front of witnesses of the community and takes hold of the land and Ruth as his wife.

It is obvious that doing so was a risk to ones reputation, given the reaction by the first relative. Boaz had that which the other lacked; ‘character’.

Ladies, is the man you have your eye on, a man of character? Or is he the type of person who is concerned what others think, even to the point where he is willing compromise who he is ‘supposed’ to be?

I say ‘supposed’ to be, because we all know that one can be any way one chooses to be and be perfectly honest. To be what God wants you to be is another matter. This is the man you want in your life; not a cheat, a liar, an adulterer, a thief, murder or criminal. You don’t need a prideful man, or an arrogant man, nor should he be too ambitious to the point it excludes you. You need a man of God! For when God is in the man, the man will treat you like God wants ‘you’ to be treated.

So, I am not speaking of the ‘jerk’ who is simply ‘keep’n it real’. I’m speaking of the ‘man’ who is ‘keeping it real’ with God, with you and with himself and others….in that order!

Yes ladies; go for the full package and the one with parts missing or some assembly required. Make sure your Boaz is a “Stand Up Guy’ who will stand up for God and you. Make sure he is man of character, honesty, integrity, principle and most important; a man of great faith.

You deserve the best that God has to give you. Why would you settle for anything less? The wait may be long or lonely or even painful, but giving yourself to the wrong man will be more lonely, more painful and if you marry; unbearably long.

Wait on your Boaz.

Before The Creation Of The World

BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD

If you ask the average person what the greatest verse in the Bible is, you would probably come up with many answers and for good reason. John 3:16 is by far one of the most popular, as is John 1:1.

I have always been drawn to 1 Peter 1:20, “He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

This verse simply blows my mind! In toughest of times, this verse screams to me of God’s infinite love for me. The word “Before” is the key that unlocks the door of this marvelous passage, into God’s heart and Christ sacrifice.

It seems the whole world knows of Jesus’ death on the cross and why, although many don’t understand and believe it. Most know Jesus died for the sins of mankind. We needed a savior and somehow, Jesus death on the cross was supposed to save us.

Believer, however know this to be true. We are very aware of our sinful condition and know that all must face judgment for these sins. We believe, Jesus, being God in the flesh, gave His life to pay our price. John 1:1 states that Jesus was there in the beginning of creation and ‘was’ God. John 3:16 tell us the God the Father sent Jesus to die for us. What a glorious display of love!

Greater still is 1 Peter 1:20 and the word “Before”. To capture the full context, examine the following:

1 Peter 1:18-20 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. (NIV)

“He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.”………Let that sink in for a moment.

Jesus was chosen to die for you and I,…BEFORE….creation! That should blow your mind! “Before” even Adam and Even sinned, Christ was chosen to die!

It was not a mistake what happened on Calvary. God, in His infinite wisdom and foresight, knew we would fall even before He created us! God loved us “SO” much that He created us “ANYWAY”! Even at the priceless expense of Jesus becoming a man to pay that price. That, my friend, is “UNCONDITIONAL” love! AMAZING LOVE!

And it doesn’t end there! Here’s another mind blower….

The Omniscience Of God.

Omniscience means “All Knowing”. It means that from beginning to end, God knows everything. This would explain Him knowing about our fall and need for a Savior before He even created us, but it also means that it was “ALREADY” accomplished!

Yes, you read it right; “ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED!” You have to understand that God is not bound by time nor space like we are. With God, all eternity exist at once. We progress in existence second by second, hour by hour, days, months, years. With God, ALL existence is simultaneous; happens at once.

So back to 1 Peter 1:20:

He was chosen before the creation of the world, (but was revealed in these last times for your sake.)

Catch that? …but was REVEALED! Reveal means to uncover or show. Christ sacrifice on the cross was ALREADY done before the world was created and only REVEALED to us 2000 yrs ago on Calvary Hill!

What Manner Of love Is This!!! You are NOT a mistake, nor is your life! God knew you before you were born. He knew you would His love and salvation. It was all covered by His love…In Advance!

Yes, one still must choose this great gift to obtain it, but one cannot deny God’s love.

It’s like a woman who wants a child. The doctor tells her that if she conceives, the pregnancy would be extremely painful and have many complications. He also warns her that her baby would probably be born with birth defects and that having a child will cost her life. The woman loves the child, existing only in her mind, so much, that she goes ahead anyway and gets pregnant. As the doctor warned, the pregnancy is painful and has many complications, but in the 9th month, she gives birth to the baby; only to gaze upon it long enough to fill her heart with joy and die from the birth.

God loves you…infinite more than this.

1 Corinthians 2:7-10 No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" -- 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

God Bless You

Risky Propositions

Risky Propositions

In our lifetimes we will take many risks. One may risk money and reputation on a business venture; for another it may be a job change or moving to a new location; for yet another, it may be a needed medical procedure.

One huge risk nearly everyone will face, is love. Will I be accepted or rejected? How will it turn out in the end? Am I making the right choice? Many question surround love’s unclear path. If we lose, we lose big; but if we win, not much on earth can match the rewards!

Ruth, took such a risk. Upon learning of Boaz’ favor towards Ruth, Naomi, Ruth’s mother-in-law convinces Ruth to approach Boaz in secret and in a sense, propose to him. Ruth was to wait until Boaz fell asleep and lay at his feet and wait for him to notice her.

By any account, this was a risky proposition. It’s unclear exactly the full meaning of the act of ‘laying at ones feet’, but it came with bold risk. I believe it was a sign of submission to one’s betrothed. In ancient customs, bowing was a form of submission, respect and reverence. Laying at the feet signifies complete surrender.

So what was the risk? You have to remember that Ruth was still an outsider. She had been married before, so she was not a virgin. She had no money, status or position. She had no claim or standing in this new community she had taken up residence. To top everything off, she hadn’t know Boaz that long to take make such a bold move.

If by chance Boaz rejected this act, Ruth would have been in grave danger. This may have been view as immoral and cause swift punishment. Boaz could have taken advantage of Ruth after she placed herself in such a vulnerable predicament. Others could have learned about this and again, cause harm to come to Ruth.

Fortunately, Boaz was an honorable man and did not take advantage of Ruth, nor did he reject her. Instead, he commanded her to keep it between the two of them while he take care of some necessary loose ends to ensure they could wed.

Ladies, when it come to matters of the heart, the risk level is at the top. Many have been hurt deeply before or have seen and heard the horror stories of failed relationships. It’s a frightening prospect to lay your heart bare and entrust it to another; unsure of what may happen. Even the best laid plans can go wrong, so the anxiety of love increases.

On the other hand, ‘No risk, no reward”. You cannot be scared to take risk. Let me clarify that you must do your homework thoroughly before proceeding and even then you have no guarantees; this is why you “wait”! Be patient and cautious and get to know your Boaz! Time is the great revealer of many things and if you do not rush things, the revelations will come; good or bad.

Much of “Waiting on your Boaz” is about waiting to see if he really “IS” your Boaz. When you have prayed and waited and he has proven himself, the risk goes down and the rewards go up.

I too am a man of risk. At the age of 23, I got tired of the lifestyle I was living and prayed to God for a wife from a rural location which was in a state 5 states from mine. I prayed to move in the city of that state and have a little girls and that He would provide work that I may support us. The very next day, I received a call from my father. He was going to visit my sister in this state and asked me to join him! I took this as a sign and packed everything I owned and moved that day.

When I got to my sister’s and moved in, it was months later that I felt I made the wrong choice and packed up and headed for home. I made a stop for a week in that rural location of the state to stay goodbye to my mother who had moved back there. During the week with my mother it happened!

Like Ruth, I “happened” to be in a place where I met one of the sweetest women I have ever saw. She was working and I slipped her a message to call me at my mother’s house. She called and we talked until the sun came up. My “short” visit with mom, turned out to be weeks and I spent every day with this new “Ruth”.

We married 25 days after we met and moved to the city location I had prayed about. She soon became pregnant and had a little girl and I found work to provide for them. I write to you now, 21yrs later, 4 kids later with a happy home and strong marriage. I called on God. Waited for God. Waited for Her. Recognized her and took a Risk. The rewards have been extraordinary. I speak from experience.

Your Boaz is out there somewhere, but God won’t send him until you are ready; ready to receive, ready to recognize and ready to risk. When you have the necessary requirements in place, wait on God and the …Wait On Your Boaz!

God Bless

The Three P's

THE THREE P’s

As we look further into the story of Ruth and Boaz, we uncover the thoughts of Boaz towards this beautiful foreigner who has wandered into his fields to glean for barley. Boaz holds nothing back as he immediately takes notice of Ruth and inquires of her. We get a clear picture of his compassion and favor for Ruth, but more importantly, we get an insight of what you should be looking for in ‘your’ Boaz. I’ll call these the “The Three P’s”.

PROTECTION

Boaz ask who Ruth is and his servants inform him that she is a foreigner from Moab, living with his returning relative, Naomi. They tell of her hard work and Boaz is impressed. Boaz instructs Ruth not to glean in any other field, but to pick from his field with his female servants. He also lets her know that he has commanded his men not to touch her.

Ruth is now under the protection of Boaz. She will no longer fear the owner of a field she gleans in being harsh towards her because she is an outsider, nor does she have to worry about harassment by the men around her. This must have been a huge relief for someone who has given up everything they have known all their life and has come into a strange land; an outsider and having no status.

Ladies, make sure your Boaz is a protector. Find a man who is willing to look out for your best interest and safety, not only from others, but from himself as well. It does no good if the man who keeps you safe from the world is the very one you fear. Not only should you not fear for your physical safety, but your emotional, mental and material welfare should be safe under your Boaz’ protection as well.

Your Boaz should be the one in who you find rest, peace and safety. He will guard your heart, your body, your thoughts and dreams and fears. He will guard your happiness here on earth and will be ever watchful to PROTECT YOU in ALL things!

PROVISON

Next, Boaz tells Ruth, “When you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink.” He not only gives her food, but invites her to his table. He commands his servants to allow her to glean among the main grain harvesting and not the leftovers and to purposely let grain from the bundles fall in her path.

Boaz goes above and beyond to provide for Ruth. This was a risky proposition for Boaz as Ruth was an outsider. She was not only a foreigner, but a Moabite, whom Moses forbade the Hebrews to marry or mingle. They were worshippers of false gods and frowned upon. Boaz wasnow risking his reputation and standing in the community.

Ladies, will your Boaz go above and beyond to provide for you? Will he risk his reputation and his own desires to meet your needs? The actions of your Boaz should scream; “YOU ARE MY PRIORITY!” Find a man who will invest in you and continue to invest in you by providing whatever you need to succeed in life.

PURPOSE

The scriptures say that Ruth gleaned in the field until evening and beat the grain into flour. Ruth stayed in the fields of Boaz throughout the harvest season close to his female servants. She was able to provide for herself and Naomi.

Ruth found purpose. The opportunity that Boaz gave her stirred up hope in her very being. She was becoming less and less “Ruth the Moabitess; the foreigner.” She now had a new sense of belonging. Purpose is a precious gift that can elevate the lowliest of person to greatest positions.

Is your Boaz elevating you? Is he cheering you on? Is he encouraging your purpose in life or helping you find it? …or is he tearing it down? Jesus once said “What man is there among you who, if his son ask for bread, will give him a stone?...If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

Ladies, if you waiting for a Boaz..praying for a Boaz…God is NOT going to send you…Broke-AZ, PO-AZ, Lyin-AZ, Cheatin-AZ,  Dumb-AZ, Drunk-AZ, Cheap-AZ, LockedUp-AZ, GoodForNothin-AZ, Lazy-AZ & DEFINITELY NOT HIS COUSIN BeatinYo-AZ!

Don’t make excuses for what God has not sent. Don’t try to fit Mr. Wrong in a Boaz picture. WAIT! Wait on God to deliver who you have been praying for! Make yourself ready to receive this gift from God. Look for the indicators of a “real” Boaz and not a cheap copy! You are worth it! Make sure he sees it too!

The LORD Be With You

The LORD be with you

When Boaz returned to find Ruth gleaning in his field, the first thing he said to his harvesters was, “The LORD be with you.” The statement seems like a common greeting, but I believe it says a lot more and has lessons we can “glean”.

The statement in and of itself speaks volumes of the one stating it. First it denotes one’s spiritual position. Boaz didn’t say, “May the Force be with you” or “May Luck be with you”, but “May The LORD be with you”. He referenced the God of Israel and proclaimed his faith in this unique God.

Secondly, it show’s a little of his character. Boaz was the landowner and a very powerful and important man in the community. He addresses his servants, not like one would think a servant would be addressed. The tone of Boaz is one of humility and kindness. He cares about people in general and acknowledges them respectfully.

What does this mean for you in your Wait On Your Boaz?

First, as a woman and especially if you are a Christian woman, find a man who has given his life to the God of Israel; a Christian. Some may argue that it makes no difference what his spiritual state is as long as he treats you right, but I beg to differ and allow me to explain.

As a Christian woman, you must heed the call of 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

If a Christian woman moves forward with a relationship with a non-believer, somewhere down the road, conflicts will arise. Whether it be differences of child rearing, tithe money, church attendance, prayer, moral issues, etc; it is far more difficult to walk your Christian walk when the one you are walking with is going in a different direction.

For the non-Christian woman; you should consider this. A man whose heart is sold out for God answers to God above all else. When he’s tempted to do wrong, he looks to God. As he tries to love you best, he looks to God. As a husband, father, friend and worker, he looks to God. As he lives his life for God, God lives through him and into your life; and that is a very good thing!

Is the Christian man perfect? NO! But here you have a man with boundaries and a higher accountability than his own self, self interest and selfishness. A man who will put God first above all, will put you first here on earth. A man who refuses to put God first or at all, is less disciplined to put you and your needs above his own.

God is the anchor in a relationship. Through the storms and bumps you will ultimately face in life; God will hold your relationship steady. Two are better than one, but THREE are better.

Wait On Your Boaz and “The LORD Be With You.”

Watch Where You Walk

Watch Where You Walk

When Ruth arrived with her mother-in-law, Naomi, the two had nothing and no man to provide for them. Ruth took it upon herself to look for grain to sustain them both. The Bible says that Ruth “happened” to be in the portion of land belonging to Boaz, who she would later meet.

Now some argue that Ruth was not the ideal example of “waiting on her Boaz” because she was married before and that it was only after the death of her first husband, was she free to “wait” on her Boaz or more like he was free to pursue her.

First, as a Christian, I know there is no such thing as “happened”. God directs our paths by allowing circumstances in and out of our lives that are meant to work out for our good, though some may seem good and painful alike.

Secondly, the Book of Ruth and the picture of Roth and Boaz is one of Redemption. It’s about second chances and starting over to receive God’s best for our lives.

I’m saying that God allowed Ruth’s husband to die so that she could meet Boaz, but rather, God turned Ruth’s tragedy to bring her to Himself and bless her with a man like Boaz. It was only after the death of her husband and her pledge of loyalty to Naomi do we see Ruth’s statement of faith: “Your people will be my people and your God will be my God”; indicating that although she was married to her husband, she had not embraced the belief in His God alone and his kinship with his people.

God “DOES” have a Boaz for you! But with this first, second, third or even fifth chance at it, you must be willing to trust God and have patience and wait for His timing where you too will “happen” upon your Boaz. You cannot rush ahead of God, trusting your own judgment that has failed you in the past.

Watch where you walk and keep God close. He will turn whatever is in your past and present, good and bad, and work it out for your benefit…IF….you trust Him and hold on. So yes, Ruth did wait; she waited on God and He delivered.

He will do the same for you.

Two Are Better Than One

Two are better than one....And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 As you wait on your Boaz, keep in mind that God must be in midst of your relationship, making that 3rd cord that binds and makes strong.

As A Woman Thinks

As A Woman Thinks

Proverbs 23:7
For as she thinks in her heart, so is she.

What do ‘you’ think? What do you think about yourself? What do you think about deep inside your heart? Do you know that you help create your destiny by your thoughts? What a woman holds in her heart, or thinks, has a great effect upon her spiritually, mentally, and physically and will affect all areas of her life…YOUR LIFE!

This proverb has unbelievably huge spiritual and universal implications. This wisdom of truth from God acts as a universal law. No matter what race, gender, social status, origin of birth or education level, it hits the mark every time!

Some call it the law of attraction. In 1937 Napoleon Hill wrote a book based on this principle called, “Think And Grow Rich”. It sold millions globally and is still selling today. Why? Because it works!

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE.

That’s it in a nutshell. In its simplest form: You are what you think you are. It doesn’t matter if what you think you are is correct or incorrect, self labeled or something you believed from another. If you accept something as true in your thinking and act upon it, you will become what you are thinking about.

This is not random thoughts the Bible is talking about, but deep rooted thoughts that have set up home inside your heart. The thoughts that you guard with your very life. These are the thoughts you fight for and sometimes even die for.

The most astounding thing is, it works for your good or bad, it has not prejudice. What is more amazing is; “YOU can control what you think deep in your heart!”

STOP! Letting your negative and wrong thinking continue to rule in your life and bring hardship upon you. We ALL could use change; if only to make things better. If  every time you think it may be possible, you let  your negative thoughts creep back in and steal your hope; or you believe that what you have now is all you can ever hope to obtain; or you tell yourself every excuse not to try or to stop hoping., you have to change your thinking!

Think about positive changes you want to see in your life. Do this daily and meditate on it. See this being lived out in your life. When you have it deep-rooted and self-fulfilling, go back and pick another positive. Try It and tell me what happens!

I LOVE YOU (Dear Child Letters From God)

Dear Child:

You certainly are very dear to me and how I desire to be your Father. You may or may not know me intimately, but I know you! (Psalm 139:1) I created you in My image and made you for my purposes. (Genesis 1:26-27) I know you may have doubts or think my plans always involve boring or dreadful things. In reality, I know the plans I have for you; they are for good and not for bad; plans to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

I loved you from even before you were born, before you were even conceived. (Jeremiah 1:5) When sin entered the world, all people went astray; you included. You have made many wrong choices and have chosen to do things "your" way instead of mine. (James 1:14) Sin grieves me greatly and as Just and Righteous God, sadly, I Must judge sin. I cannot punsih "some" sin and allow other sin to go unpunished. That would be hypocrytical and not according to my nature. Would you expect me to allow all wrong to go unpunished? Should I overlook murder, rape or theft? I would not and will not. By the same token, I cannot overlook your own sin. (Revelation 8:11)

Judging sin does not mean I do not love you. I loved you enough to make provision for your sin; so you may be forgiven. I loved you so much that I sent My Son Jesus to suffer the penalty of death for your sins. (John 3:16) Before I created anything, Jesus was prepared to give His life for those who would fall into sin. (1 Peter 1:20) Now, if you would only believe in Him and confess your sins and turn from your ways, you will be forgiven. (Romans 10:9) Jesus is the sacrafice for sin that leads to eternal life. He is the way to becoming My child. He is the way to Me. (John 14:6)

My child, you are constantly on My mind. (Psalm 139:17-18) I am daily trying to reach your heart. Even through various troubles in your life, I Am there, trying to get your attention. (Deuteronomy 8:3) This eart; this life; it is only temporary. One day you will die and that is a certainty, but life goes on. This life after death is the begining, not the end. My desire is when you face Me, I will be there as your Father and not your Judge. (Hebrews 9:27) My love for you cannot override My Perfect Justice.

My Justice is perfect, but My Love is Perfect. Please do not reject my Perfect Love.

Death: Endings and Beginnings

Death: Endings and Beginnings

Who among us has not experienced the pain of the death of a loved one, a friend, an acquaintance or ourselves been face to face with death or witnessed it?

Death is a fact of life in a fallen world. Ruth also experienced the pangs of death. Her journey starts with the death of her husband. She must have thought her world was ending…and perhaps it was.

This woman crossed the lines to marry outside her race, which most certainly didn’t win her points among her people. She probably felt somewhat isolated, but at least she had a loving husband. Now he too, was gone, leaving her with no children, no money, no future.

What was to Ruth to do? Give up and quit? Become bitter? Turn back to her former life? She would be justified to do. Ruth choose to trust God, go forward and wait. Wait On Her Boaz!

Although Boaz was not her first choice, God had reserved a mate for her. God was not the first choice of none of us, but like Boaz, turned out to be the best choice!

Even though Boaz was God’s choice, it took the death of Ruth’s husband to help Ruth choose him also. I’m not saying God killed her husband to do this, but worked all things together for the good of those who love Him. Romans 8:28 Death became, not the end, but the beginning.

What must die (figuratively) in your life so that God may grant you a new beginning and maybe your Boaz? Jesus said; "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life." John 12:24

This applies not only to gain eternal life, but to gain everything! To live is to die; to die is to live. For a new beginning, an end must come. For some it may be the death of a unspiritual relationship or an abusive one. Maybe it’s the death of selfishness, arrogance and pride. For others, it may be the death of fear, low self esteem or confusion. Yet another may need to send the past, mistakes in the present and fear of the future to the grave.

Whatever is holding you back from beginning again, maybe it’s time to let it go or at least let the part of it die to start afresh. Most things that hold us back and need to die are internal: emotions, metal thinking, attitudes and habits.

No need to wait for physical death to begin living like Jesus promised, but live now! Put to death the things that hold you back. Crucify the negative baggage and nail them to the cross of Christ. Begin new! Begin today!

Then, Wait On Your Boaz.

Home Improvement

Home Improvement

The wise woman builds her house,
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
Proverbs 14:1

This is timeless advice from God to the ladies. At first glance, it seems to point out how foolish it is to tear down your house. Many interpret this passage to mean “home”. The woman who nags her husband, neglects her children, pushes herself away from her family, etc.

It may very well all that and more, but I would like to interject my opinion.

Throughout scripture, the ‘body’ is continually referred to as an earthen vessel, a tent, a temple…a house. I believe this can be applied to meaning that a foolish woman tears ‘herself’ down.

Are you building yourself up? Or tearing yourself down?

Are you allowing past problems and mistakes to keep you prisoner in the present? Have you given up trying to do the things you dreamt of? Have you accepted the hurtful labels others put on you? Maybe you lack motivation, confidence, courage or skill. Is there ‘ANYTHING’ you are allowing to keep you from being the best ‘YOU’ you can be?

If so, you are being the foolish woman who is actively tearing her house down.

Build yourself up! Do some serious inner reflection and start home improving! As many wait for a Boaz to come sweep them off their feet; they are neglecting becoming the woman a Boaz would pursue.

I believe in you. I believe that you would not wish to remain foolish on purpose. Become who God has called you to be. Invest in yourself and build up your house!

“You will seek Me and find me when you seek Me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:13

Seeking God is the key to life. Why aren't we seeking God in the men we choose? If your choice of man isn't in love with God also or standing for God...can he love you like God and will he stand up for you like God?

Boaz; It's Not Just About Him

Waiting On Your Boaz isn't 'just' about landing a great man, it's about Trusting a Great God! The same God who died for you to pay your sins won't lead you in the wrong direction when you follow close behind Him. God wants the best for you! Why settle for what you 'think' is best?

In the Book, of Ruth there were ‘two’ daughters-in-law with ‘two’ choices to make. Orpah made the choice to turn back to what was familiar to her, but Ruth choose to follow Naomi; not only follow, but to become one with her as stated in her famous quote:

“Wherever you go, I will go: and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people will be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.” Ruth 1:16-17

I am awestruck by Ruth’s faithfulness, determination and courage; not to mention integrity of heart. This sounds more like the wedding vow, “till death do us part’.

We have to stop and understand what kind of character this shows in Ruth. See, BEFORE you set your eyes on your Boaz, you have to be worthy to receive such a gift from God. In order to be WORTHY to God, you, like Ruth, must choose to follow God…wherever He may lead you and however He may grow you.

God has a beautiful plan for your life and yes, it may very well include your Boaz, but it starts with HIM. He is the One who receives Glory and Honor. He is the One on the Throne to be Worshipped. He is the King and Judge over all creation. To Him you must submit if you wish to have any good thing in life.

Jesus summed it perfectly.

“Seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

See the order of things? Seek ‘FIRST’, ‘THEN’ you receive. God is more concerned with your relationship with Him, than your desires of the world. Not to say that your desires don’t matter; for God is willing to give you the desires of your heart.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

We, being self-centered and selfish creatures think this verse is about us, when in reality, it’s all about God.

When we delight in the LORD and seek Him and His kingdom and love Him with all are heart, mind and strength, our desires ‘become’ His desires; this is why we are now able to receive them! When we reach this state of mind of desiring the ‘RIGHT’ things, God is more than happy to oblige us.

Some of you are praying for a Boaz, waiting on a Boaz, seeking a Boaz…but still hanging around Broke-AZ, PO-AZ, Lyin-AZ, Cheatin-AZ, Dumb-AZ, Drunk-AZ,
Cheap-AZ, LockedUp-AZ, GoodForNothin-AZ, Lazy-AZ & DEFINITELY
