AS A WOMAN THINKS

AS A WOman THinks

Proverbs 23:7
For as she thinks in her heart, so is she.

What do ‘you’ think? What do you think about yourself? What do you think about deep inside your heart? Do you know that you help create your destiny by your thoughts? What a woman holds in her heart, or thinks, has a great effect upon her spiritually, mentally, and physically and will affect all areas of her life…YOUR LIFE!

This proverb has unbelievably huge spiritual and universal implications. This wisdom of truth from God acts as a universal law. No matter what race, gender, social status, origin of birth or education level, it hits the mark every time!

Some call it the law of attraction. In 1937 Napoleon Hill wrote a book based on this principle called, “Think And Grow Rich”. It sold millions globally and is still selling today. Why? Because it works!

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE.

That’s it in a nutshell. In its simplest form: You are what you ‘think’ you are. It doesn’t matter if what you think you are is correct or incorrect, self-labeled or something you believed from another. If you accept something as true in your thinking, you begin to act upon it, and soon, you will become what you think about yourself.

These are not random thoughts that the Bible is talking about, but deep rooted thoughts that have set up a home for inside your heart. These are the thoughts that you guard with your very life. These are the thoughts you fight for and sometimes even die for. These thoughts are what makes you…YOU!

The most astounding thing is that it works for your good or bad, it has not prejudice. What is more amazing is; “YOU can control what you think deep in your heart!”

STOP! Letting your negative and wrong thinking continue to rule in your life and bring hardship upon you. We ALL could use change; if only to make things better. Every time you think it may be possible and you let your negative thoughts creep back in and steal your hope, you lose! When you believe that what you have now is all you can ever hope to obtain, you lose! When you tell yourself every excuse not to try or to stop hoping, you lose! You have to change your thinking to win!

Think about positive changes you want to see in your life. Do this daily and meditate on it and live it out. See this being lived out in your life and practice it daily. When you have the first change deep-rooted, self-fulfilling and noticeable, go back and pick another positive thing to change or add to your life.
Truth is, you can shape and re-shape your whole life! Whatever you desire can be at your fingertips! You will inevitably move towards that which you think about on a consistent and persistent basis.

Try something simple for starters and see how it works. When you see this working, try the next great thought and then go bigger. Give it a month or more to test this theory. What do you have to lose? But negative thoughts!

Try It and tell me what happens!

God Bless,

NEW YOU

A New You

Each of you at one point or another has desired change. Change for the better. I know the process of change may seem scary and a bit slow, but rest assured, it can come and for some, it has already begun. Allow the 'you' that you were previously, to fade as the "new' you filters into your life.

You have infinite worth and potential! No matter what you have done, where you have been or where you are now, a new day can come. You are not the same woman (or man) you used to be. Not the same as yesterday or the day before. Each day brings a new you and new opportunities to re-create a better you. Don't listen to voices telling you that you will always be what you have always been.

The road ahead is a journey and journeys take time. Roads are meant to be traveled, so you must start walking. Put one foot in front of the other and walk this path each day, making further inroads towards the new you. Keep in mind how valuable you are. You alone know the many mistakes you have made in the past, yet there is hope! Instead of guilt and shame, learn! Take note of your mistakes, readjust, and move forward anew! You know the hurts and wrongs that have been done to you, but these wounds will heal also. You know how far you must go, but with God's help, you will go farther. You are NOT alone!

Let your mind and heart be renewed. This life is fading like the dew that falls in the morning and is gone by noon. Focus on what truly matters. Your life is priceless, yet fleeting. You must bear in mind that although there are many things more important than material or monetary things in this world that you should be focused on. You are at the top of this important list. You cannot take care of what is important and others if you, yourself, are falling apart.

Again, the challenge is for you to walk this new path. Think of the possibilities: strong and confident; knowing where you are headed with vision to get there. Imagine being intact emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually and economically. How much of difference would your life look like and your effect on the lives of others around you? Re-think, re-plan, re-position and re-route, re-do and re-make YOU!

I believe in you. God believes in you. Believe too in yourself. Let the new you emerge!

God Bless,

YOU ARE SPECIAL

YOu ARe Special

I'm a man of faith, but my faith doesn't have to show me how special you are. I know there are many times you doubt what is special about you. Sometimes, through the up and downs, the bumps and bruises and the joy and pain of life, it's easy to feel insignificant.

I believe, no matter where you are, where you've been or what is coming your way, you are a priceless and exquisite masterpiece in this existence! You matter!

You are you! Wonderfully and Awesomely created! No matter what you story is, there has never been, nor will there ever be another soul like you. Keep that in mind as you reflect on your life. The most sought after things in life are those which are the rarest. What can be more rare than a one-of-a-kind you?

I know some of you out there seem to have everything under control and think; "I don't need this, i'm fine!"
That may be...for now. I've lived long enough to know that 'every day won't be sunshine.' And when that beautiful day grows dark as the clouds roll in, don't listen to the negative voices in your head.

Yes, you are special and I want you to know it, feel it and embrace it. You have a beautiful mind and unique talents. It's the inside that makes you shine for this is the 'real you'. Everything else is simply window dressing. Don't hide behind the looks, clothes, career, car and houses. Material trappings can only cover up so much.  Let 'you' shine for the world to see! Believe in yourself and the fact that there are millions of people waiting to discover you!

Just remember; Unique = Priceless!

God Bless

HAPPY VETERANS DAY

HAPPY VETERANS DAY

Today in America is Veterans Day and I salute all the brave men and women who serve this country in order to protect the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness that we so enjoy. The soldier deserves one of the highest honors for it is their duty to protect without question and be willing to lay down their lives if necessary.

Most every kingdom has a country and the Kingdom of God is no exception. God employees a innumerable host of invisible angelic beings that carry out His will from messaging to ministering to marching into spiritual battles. These beings move in and out about us daily as we live out earthly lives. They are the Special Forces sent in to support God’s other branch of servicepersons.

The Christian Church is God’s Army on earth. From the apostles to the disciples, from the minsters to the deacons, from the healers to the prayer warriors, the Army of God has been on the move since Adam and Eve were created in the Garden of Eden.

At the outset Israel was tapped on the shoulder by God to serve. The prophets and holy people of God carried out Spirit directed missions to expand the Kingdom of God. These were the scouts and minesweepers that prepared the way for a more advanced branch of God’s Army, the Christians.

“Through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again.

Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.” (Hebrews 11:33-39)

These pioneers paved the way for the ultimate Commander and General in the history of the world, Jesus Christ. The establishment of His kingdom would be eternal and last forever. He would rule on the throne of David without end. His followers would pledge their allegiance to Him, even after death. The battle of the ages was about to commence and eternal life and death hanged in the balance for billions of souls.

In the next wave of attacks, millions upon millions have enlisted for the cause of Christ and the Kingdom of God. Leaving friends, family and former lives behind, they have picked up their cross and followed Jesus into battle. As their Commander In Chief, Jesus, had done, they were prepared to sacrifice all, even to their very own lives.

If the great exploits of the army of the Old Testament saints were not enough to garner the attention of the most astute military personnel, the Apostle Paul has laid of what the second infantrymen of God can do and expect.

“Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness— besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?

If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying. In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me; but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped from his hands (2 Corinthians 11: 1- 33)

Enlistment in the Army of God can come at great peril. Millions upon millions have lost their lives in the battle for the Name of Christ. Even until the present day, million face ongoing persecution with facing unjust laws, restrictive freedoms, verbal bashing and accusations, discrimination, beatings and violence, church burnings, home displacement, rape, maiming, dismemberment, and murder.

In many places, with no sympathy from governments, there is an open declaration of war against Christians. These brothers and sisters are in the thick of battle and many have paid the ultimate price; death.

Other Christians around the globe face persecution on a lower level, but nonetheless, they suffer for the Kingdom. Laws are passed suppressing their freedom of religion. The Name of God and Jesus is banned from the public square and the Bible is openly mocked and ridiculed. They face discrimination and alienation and the anti-Christ behavior is only growing.

All these men and women of God, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, from the slaughters in the Roman Coliseum to the Inquisitions, from the Muslim invasion to governments persecutions, are entrenched in the War of Good and Evil.

These brothers and sisters are true Veterans in in God’s eyes and I salute you! Happy Veterans Day!

God Bless,

LESSONS FROM NAOMI

LESSONS FROM NAOMI

There are many lessons that could be taught from the The Book Of Ruth. We can point to Ruth’s determination and faith. We could look at Boaz’s redemptive qualities. We can speak of God’s hand moving and directing the circumstances unawares. But what about Naomi? What can we learn from the role she played?

Naomi was from Bethlehem, of the tribe of Judah. She followed her husband to Moab where one of her sons met and married Ruth. When her two sons had died, she was left alone with only her two daughter-in-laws. Of those two, it was Ruth that refused to leave Naomi’s side.

As one could imagine, Naomi was feeling extremely depressed having lost her husbands, her only two sons and a daughter-in-law. Although Ruth’s persistence in joining her gave her some comfort, she dreaded the future for the both of them.

Once back in Bethlehem, Naomi’s old friends greeted them excitedly. Naomi however, was less than enthusiastic. She tells her friends to long call her Naomi, but Mara because, “The Almighty has afflicted and dealt bitterly with her”.

Naomi sends Ruth out gather barley so they could eat and is excited to learn that Ruth has found favor with one of her relatives, Boaz, to glean for grain in his fields. Naomi sees this meeting as a chance to offer Ruth the security and love that she had lost upon the death of her son. She concocts a plan to help Ruth win the heart of Boaz.

Naomi’s plan works like a charm! Boaz falls head over heels for Ruth and makes all the necessary arrangements and sacrifices to make Ruth his wife. Ruth later conceives a baby boy and names him Obed. Naomi’s friends say to her in praise, “Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a close relative; and may his name be famous in Israel!”

Obed’s name did indeed become famous in Israel. Obed begot Jesses, and Jesse begot David. Jesus Christ, The Lion of The Tribe of Judah, would be descended from this royal blood line. What Naomi saw as a curse and affliction, was in reality God’s providence, guiding her to engineer the course of history to make way for the greatest miracle in existence.

Perhaps you too have felt like Naomi? Many times it can feel like everything has gone wrong and God is afflicting use and dealing us a better deck of cards. It would seem that all the ‘other’ Ruths are finding their Boaz and the Boazs are finding their Ruths, while you receive the death of one joy after another.

Naomi’s losses gave way to sadness, hopelessness and bitterness. Have you become ‘Mara’ or ‘Marred’ by life’s setbacks? God revealed that He was never far from Naomi, working behind the scenes. She simply failed to see Him through the tears.

God deals with you no differently. Although it nay seem at times as if everything is going wrong and nothing is going right. As if the whole world seems to be against you as everything works out great for everybody but you. God is still at work in your life! He is guiding and directing for an outcome you could not expect or imagine!

Have patience and trust God. Lean not on your own understanding and wait on the Lord. As with Naomi, God has already delivered to you the miracle that Naomi had a hand in; Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

The Book Of Ruth was written 1010 BC. It is as if God has left you yet another trail of bread crumbs, straight to Jesus. God is telling you, “Don’t worry, I have not forsaken or forgotten you; I got you!”

Trust God, even when it makes little sense to do so. Trust Him through the heartache, pain and disappointments of life. Trust in what you cannot see; the future! God neither sleeps nor slumbers. He is on the job 24/7 and He is watching over you for good.

God Bless

PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED

PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED

Weng Goodluck Tshua was three weeks old in March 2010 when Fulani Muslims attacked his village of Dogo Nahawa and slaughtered 501 Christians. All nine members of his family, including his father and mother, were killed. He was rescued from his burning house, but not before the fire had consumed his feet. As Weng has grown over the past few years, he has been unable to run around or even walk. -http://www.persecution.com/

“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. “ 1 John 5:19

The world is indeed under the sway of the wicked one. Murder, rape, crime, slander, accusations, corruption, and sexual immorality, are but a few of the wicked one’s devices. His hatred for God and everything loved by God is evident in his bloodlust to destroy it.

Nowhere is this more evident than it is in persecuted Christianity. Christians are being hunted down line prey and attacked, raped, maimed and killed. The incidents are commonplace and widespread. Why do we not hear more about such atrocities? The world, under the sway of the wicked one, does not care.

Headlines are reserved for chemical weapon use in Syria or uprisings in the Middle East. Although it is right for these types of brutality to be brought into the light, one must question why attacks against Christians, which are more numerous, more severe and more frequent do not grab the headlines of the world. Do they not know? Do they not see?

Christianity is under attack. Not just in places like Nigeria, but everywhere. Some 62 nations around the world are restrictive to Christianity; 58 are Muslim controlled areas. The governments in these countries often turn a blind eye to the persecution of Christians. It is literally “Open Season” on Christians.

The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is November 2, 2013.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters who are being savagely brutalized for their faith in Christ. These people are being stripped of everything, even their very lives. Why worry about trivial matters and play online games and enjoy a relatively good life, these ones of God worry about when the next attack will be and if they will be one of the ones killed this time.

Pray, support or get involved in organizations that are are on the forefront of trying to stop this senseless violence. Help show our Christian family that they do not stand alone! Come let us be the hands, feet and heart of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also out to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in Him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:16-18
