Think Like A Queen

THINK LIKE A QUEEN

The concept of Waiting On Your Boaz is found in the Book Of Ruth, but an essential part of that journey begins with you. To help get your mindset correct, let’s look at another book of the Bible showcasing yet another strong woman; The Book Of Esther.

Esther, like Ruth, was also found alone and an outsider. She was picked by the King to become a queen. Esther’s fate is once more example of how God guides and directs those who love Him, not only for their benefit, but also for His purposes.

In Esther’s case, she uncovered a plot to exterminate the Jews, which were her people, unbeknownst to the King. Because of her position, she was able to get the King to halt this evil plan and punish those responsible, saving herself and her people.

When Esther questioned ‘what could someone like her accomplish?’ her cousin Mordecai replied, “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Mordecai’s statement should resonate with one of us, for none of us know whether what we have been through or where we are currently is for “such a time as this”. The ‘time’ could be anything that God has purposed for us and we, like Esther, must be ready to do our part.

When focusing on your ‘Boaz”, you must also be ready, for you do know when that time may come.

How can you be ready? I’m sure you will agree that there are a million ways you can think of to improve yourselves in all kinds of areas. For an example, let’s look at what it took Esther to become Queen.

1. Esther was a virgin. If you have already lost your virginity, be it through marriage or not, it’s never too late for purity! Your Boaz wants a woman whom he can trust to be pure and stay faithful to him.

2. Esther received 12 months of beauty treatments. Wow! I admit this may be a little over the top, but realistically, should you not try to look your best everyday? I’m not talking beauty queen good, but let your appearance show that you care about yourself.

3. Part of Esther’s treatments were lovely smelling perfumes. A sweet smelling woman turns the heads of any man with a nose. If you cannot afford perfumes, make sure you smell and look clean.

4. Esther wore royal robes. Your wardrobe may not be royal or the latest fashion, but whatever you have to work with, work it! Again, I’m pointing to taking care of yourself, putting your best forward. If you look like you don’t care or have given up on yourself, the Boaz you want will not notice you.

5. Esther was bold and brave. Since it was unlawful to see the King unannounced; Esther put herself in danger to risk trying to save her people. But she did so anyway with her famous line:

“I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

This took a tremendous amount of courage on Esther’s part! You too must muster up the courage to meet new people and be noticed. We all want to guard our feelings, but sometimes you must open up. Many have been burned in the past, but you too must trust that this is a new time…“Who knows whether you have come to this point for such a time as this?”

Remember, God is the director. You must just prepare and play your part. Let God lead as you follow and see what happens.

Think like the Queen you are!

Desires Of Your Heart

DESIRES OF YOUR HEART

Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4

Do you want the desires of your heart? Are you delighting yourself in the LORD? Scripture clearly says you cannot have one without the other. Make sure you are getting the order right though. Delight in God FIRST, THEN… He will give you the desires of your heart.

Why?

We all know by now that God will not give us anything He disapproves of or that we cannot handle. When you delight in the LORD, you are ‘in sync’ with God. When you are in sync with God, your desires will line up with God and He will have no problem giving to you.

Does that make sense?

Many of you desire a ‘Boaz” who is not from God or one that is not meant to be in your life. You cannot obtain happiness with this person because what you want has not lined up with who God wanted to give to you.

We must stop making excuses and blame our dysfunctional relationship on ‘God’s will’. I have had many women say that the Holy Spirit revealed to them a certain man was to be their husband when clearly the man in question was more interested in the world rather than God.

When the relationship crumbles, these women blame God, the devil or others for its downfall. They should have heeded the word and focused more on delighting in God instead of chasing their own desires.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

James 4:3

Don’t get thrown off by the word ‘spend’ in this verse. The scripture is speaking of ‘consuming’ your blessing on yourself and not necessarily money. It’s about asking God for ‘anything’ with wrong motives, simply to please yourself. These request are ‘NOT’ created out of delight for God, but delight for self, thus you have asked wrongly and God will not deliver.

Praying for your ‘Boaz’ should not merely be just to find a good man, but to find a man who will walk with you to help you do God’s will on earth. You should want a man to help build you up spiritually and create a godly family with you. You should want your union to be a force on earth for God.

When you get this piece of the puzzle correct, you are now delighting in God and not pretending. You are realizing that a good man, a Boaz, fits into God’s plan for you and your life for ‘HIS’ purposes. And His purpose becomes your purpose, your purposes become His and He will bless you with all you need to fulfill His will.

Remember Solomon? God asked Him to name ‘anything’ he wanted! How is that for 3 wishes from a genie or blank check?! What did Solomon do with such an offer?

A discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.”

1 Kings 3:9

Solomon got it right! He didn’t go all selfish on God and break out his Christmas wish list. No, he asked for what God would want from Him. To know right from wrong, discernment and a heart for people. Now look At God’s response:

The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”

1 Kings 3:10-14

So God not only gave Solomon what he asked for, but everything he didn’t ask for!
Here’s the best part; God is no respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34)

Solomon is not ‘better’ than you. God shows no favoritism in who you ARE, but in WHAT YOU DO! So if you focus on doing right by God, God will do right by you!

So pray and seek God. Delight in your Lord.  Wait On Your Boaz….and God will give you the desires of your heart….too.

God Bless

Your're Not Strong Enough

Dear Child:

You are strong; but not strong enough.

You are not strong enough to handle every problem that comes your way. And, in this world, you 'will'have trouble. (John 16:33) Earthquakes, Tornadoes. Floods, Economic Woes, Personal Tragedies and Death, and much more plauge your world. You will be tempted by fear and worry to grow weak. I want you to be strong, but you need 'MY' strength to be strong enough for all life's troubles. Seek Me while I may be found; call on Me while I am near. (Isaiah 55:6)

When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was My arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke, I dry up the sea. I turn rivers into desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst. (Isaiah 50:2) Be brave and strong! Don't be afraid...The LORD your God will always be at your side, and I will never abandon you. (Deuteronomy 31:6) I have commanded you to be strong and brave. Don't ever be afraid or discouraged! I am the LORD your God, and I will be there to help you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

When My people came to the Promised Land, My servant Caleb said "Let's go take the land." But the other men replied, "Those people are much too strong for us." (Numbers 13:32) They looked to their own strength, not Mine, and became afraid. David became a great and strong ruler, because the LORD All-Powerful was on his side. (2 Samuel 5:10) All who trust Me will be cheerful and strong. (Psalm 31:24) I am the LORD, a strong and mighty warrior. (Psalm 24:8) I defend the weak and the fatherless, uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed. I rescue the weak and needy, deliver them from the wicked. (Psalm 82:3-4) I am a strong tower, where you are safe from your enemies. (Psalm 61:3) Trust the LORD! Be brave and strong and trust Me! (Psalm 27:14)

Why do people persist in trusting themselves and not the God who made all things? Cursed is the one trust in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. (Jeremiah 17:5) My foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and My weakness is stronger than human strength. (I Corinthians 1:25) I drag rulers from their thrones and put humble people in places of power. (Luke 1:52) Wealth and honor come from Me; I am the ruler of all things. In My hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. (1 Chronicles 29:12) Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boast, boast about this: that they have the understanding to know Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight. (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41) If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! (Proverbs 24:10) I give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Even young people get tired, then stumble and fall. but those who trust in Me will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired. (Isaiah 40:29-31) I work out everything to its proper end - even the wicked for a day of disaster. (Proverbs 16:4) But I will not be a terror to you, I am your refuge in the day of disaster. (Jeremiah 17:18) For in the day of trouble I will keep you safe in My dwelling; I will hide you in the shelter of My sacred tent and set you high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:5) Others will stumble and fall, but you will be strong and stand firm. (Psalm 20:8) You will not leave in haste or go in flight; for I, the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. (Isaiah 52:12) My power will make you like a fortress or a column of iron or a wall of bronze. (Jeremiah 1:18)

I chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. (1 Corinthians 1:27) Let the weakling say, "I am strong!" (Joel 3:10) Be happy and shout to Me who makes you strong! Shout praises to the God of Jacob! (Psalm 81:1) When a strong man arms himself and guards his home, everything he owns is safe. (Luke 11:21) I have given you a strong man, armed to guard your house.

I show undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why I appointed Jesus Christ to choose you to share in His eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but I will make you complete, steady, strong and firm. (1 Peter 5:10) My grace is sufficient for you. My power is strongest when you are weak. Therefore boast gladly about your weaknesses, so that Christ power may rest on you. (2 Corinthians 12:9) That's why; for Christ's sake, delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties, for when are weak, then you are strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)

You have a high priest who has ascended into heaven. Jesus the Son of God, who you hold firmly to in faith, is not a high priest who is unable to empathize with your weaknesses, but you have one who has been tempted in every way, just as you are - yet he did not sin. Therefore, approach My throne of grace with confidence, so that you may receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need. (Hebrews 4:15) You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13)

The Spirit helps you in your weakness when you do not know what you ought to pray for; the Spirit Himself intercedes for you through wordless groans. (Romans 8:26) May you be strengthened with the power of My Spirit in your inner being. (Ephesians 3:16) His glorious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy. (Colossians 1:11)

Never give up. Your bodies are gradually dying, but you are being made stronger each day. (2 Corinthians 4:16) My glorious power makes you strong, and because of My kindness, your strength increases. I, the LORD your King, the Holy One of Israel, am your shield. (Psalm 89:17-18) Sacrifice thank offerings to Me, fulfill your vows to the Most High and call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me. (Psalm 50:14-15) If you respect Me, I will be a secure fortress and a refuge to your children. The fear of Me is a life giving fountain that keeps you safe from deadly traps. (Proverbs 14:26-27) So do not fear, for i am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; i will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

If you obey the laws and teachings I am giving you, you will be strong enough to conquer. (Deuteronomy 11:8) My wisdom will make you stronger than the ten most powerful leaders in your city. (Ecclesiastes 7:19) Guard the good deposit of teaching that was entrusted to you - guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. (2 Timothy 1:14) Humble yourself, therefore, under My mighty hand, that I may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter 5:6)

FREE IN CHRIST

FREE IN CHRIST

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob has identified Himself through this Holy Word. The foremost call in scripture is to come to know the God who created you and be set free.

As fallen people, we need freedom from all kinds of things; the uttermost which is sin. Christ came to redeem us from our sin that had separated us from this Holy God. He paid the price so that we could be set free. Jesus made this clear when He recited this scripture;

“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free”

Luke 4:18

If you are ‘in’ Christ, you are no longer a prisoner, nor should you allow yourself to be imprisoned again.

I know this page is focused on helping you Wait On Your Boaz, but by no means is it a call to be a ‘prisoner’ of your Boaz or any other man! You are Free! Exercise this freedom and do not put yourself under the rule of another or anything.

Now let me clarify; I’m not talking about disobeying your government, police, boss or others in a position of authority. Subjection to the rule of law is perfectly Biblical and not a form of slavery.

Even in a godly marriage, the wife is subject to the husband as is the husband subject to the wife. Christ was subject to the Father and the Holy Spirit is subject to Christ and the Father. The Father, by virtue of giving the Son anything He ask, is in a sense, subjecting Himself to the Son.

Subjection is godly, slavery is evil. Subjection is “willful” and out of love, slavery is ‘forced’ and done out of evil and selfish desires. See the difference? I you subject lovingly to your husband and he is doing the same to you, you have a loving and peaceful marriage. If your husband is ‘forcing’ or manipulating you to do things against your will by threats, selfishness, confusion or pressure, this is not of love and is meant to ‘enslave’ you.
God wants you FREE! Free to come to Him and be led by Him. How can you achieve this if you are a slave to another?

Remember what Jesus told the rich ruler when he could not give up his wealth to gain a more valuable, but eternal riches?

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Matthew 6:24

Jesus made it clear that you can’t serve two things; ANYTHING! Let’s read it again, but with a twist. In the blank spot, but in whatever you like. Try inserting anything that is important to you, things you love, things that you think make your life perfect, …..even your Boaz.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and ______________.

It’s an eye opener, is it not? What are you serving instead of God? God is to be number one in your life. Anything else should be view as temporary gift from Him. You should not hold onto things so tight that you began serving ‘IT’ instead of God.

A man, Boaz or not, can be a good thing, but will never be God!

If you want a happy and successful life, never forget this lesson. God First! “THEN” everything else. In the ‘everything else’, remember you have ONE Master, God. A man cannot be come important, a job, a car, money, friends, pride, reputation, etc.

If you Wait On Your Boaz and he is the ‘RIGHT’ Boaz, he will be doing the same, encouraging you to the same and never think of controlling you or subjecting you to himself, for he ‘knows’ you serve but one Master.

The first sign you see when a man is trying to control you or pressure you or manipulate you, RUN, the other direction! God has NOT sent this man to you!

This is as much about building you up as it is to help you Wait On Your Boaz. I’ll end with a little parable I once heard.

A man sat reading a newspaper in his den while his young son sat at his feet on the rug. The young boy was bored and wanting his father’s attention, yanked on his pant leg. The father, a bit annoyed and wanting to read his newspaper undistracted, came up with an idea to keep the boy busy.

The man took a section of the paper that had a huge picture of the earth and tore it to many pieces and told his son to put it back together like a puzzle. The boy was thrilled and went to work while his father went back to reading. Only minutes passed when the boy called to the father to say he was To the father’s astonishment. The father asked his son in amazement;

“Great job son! How on earth did you finish so quickly?”

The son replied, “It was easy daddy. It was hard at first, but on the other side was a big picture of a man. When I put the man together, the world was all together.”

The father smiled, “That’s right son, when the man is all together, his world is all together”.

Is your world altogether? Christ set you Free to make that happen.

God Bless

Pray To Me

Dear Child:

Pray to Me. Come to Me. Cry out to Me. I am listening.

I will let your prayer come before Me and incline My ear to your cry. (Psalm 88:2) You will call upon Me and you will go and pray to Me and I will hearken to you. (Jeremiah 29:12) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is My will in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to Me; and My peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:6) But the end of things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins', (1 Peter 4:7-8) so continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2)

When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people; if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:13-15) I will hear your supplication; I will receive your prayer. (Psalm 6:9) I will regard the prayer of the destitute and will not despise their prayer. (Psalm 102:17) Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not. (Jeremiah 33:3)

When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because you have sinned against Me, when you pray to Me and confess My name, and turn back from your sin because I afflict you, then I will hear in heaven and forgive your sin, that I may teach you the good way in which you should walk; and send rain on your land. (1 Kings 8:34-36) Acknowledge your sin to Me and do not hide your iniquity. Say, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD", and I will forgive your sin. For this cause everyone who is godly will pray to Me in a time when I may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they will not come near you. I am your hiding place. I will preserve you from trouble; I will surround you with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:5-7) I will fulfill the desires of them that fear Me; i will also hear their cry and I will save them. (Psalm 145:19)

If you abide in Christ, and My words abide in you, ask what you will and it will be done for you. (John 15:7) And whatsoever you ask in Jesus name, that I will do, that I will be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in His name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14) But if you hope for what you do not see, eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Likewise the Spirit also helps in your weaknesses. For you do not know what you should pray as you ought. I search the heart and know what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to My will. (Romans 8:25-27) Have faith in Me. Therefore, I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that I may also forgive your trespasses. (Mark 11:22, 24-25)

Then will you call, and I will answer you; you will cry and I will say, "Here I Am." (Isaiah 58:9) I know the things you have need of before you ask Me. In this manner, therefore pray:

Our Father in heaven - Acknowledge Me
Hallowed be Your name - Reverence Me
Your kingdom come - Seek earnestly for Me
Your will be done - Realize I Am sovereign
On earth as it is in heaven - Know that I am in control
Give us this day our daily bread - Pray daily for needs, be content and rely on Me
And forgive our debts - Ask for forgiveness for your sins
As we forgive our debtors - Forgive as you have been forgiven
And do not lead us into temptation - Pray for guidance
But deliver us from the evil one - Pray for spiritual protection
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen - Acknowledge Me as God!

Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. (Matthew 21:22) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you; for everyone that ask, receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him that knocks, it will be opened ....I will give good things to those who ask Me. (Matthew 7:7-8, 11) And whatsoever you ask, you receive of Me because you keep My commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in My sight. (1 John 3:22) If you ask anything according to MY WILL, I hear you. (1 John 5:14) I will give you whatever you ask in Jesus name. Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete. (John 16:23-24)

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15) When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in houses of worship and on street corners, so that everyone will see them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full. But when you pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to Me, who is unseen. And I, who see you in private, will reward you. (Matthew 6:5-7) This is the confidence you have in Me, that if you ask anything according to My will, I hear you. (1 John 5:16)

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Say to Me, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." If you say, "The LORD is my refuge", and you make Me, the Most High, your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:1-2, 9,10) Because you love Me, I will rescue you; I will protect you, for you acknowledge My name. You will call on Me and I will answer you; I will be with you in trouble, I will deliver you and honor you. With long life I will satisfy you and show you My salvation. (Psalm 91:14-16) Before you call, I will answer; and while you are yet speaking, I will hear. (Isaiah 65:24)

Pray to Me.

Love God

What's In A Talent?

WHAT’S IN A TALENT?

tal·ent  noun \ta-lÉ™nt\

1. archaic : a characteristic feature, aptitude, or disposition of a person or animal.

     2. the natural endowments of a person
     3. a : a special often athletic, creative, or artistic aptitude
b : general intelligence or mental power : ability

It is said that everyone has talent; be it the ability to sing or be athletic or have some great mental intelligence. Talent comes in all shapes and sizes and each individual, from the least to the greatest is blessed with some type of talent.

In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus relates a parable of trio of servants and how they utilized money given to them by their master. The money in the parable was called a ‘talent’. Whatever the value of this currency was, the master expected the servants to make it grow. Two did and one failed to do so. The master was infuriated with the servant who failed to multiply his portion of the talents.

V.24-30

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Why was the master so angry with the servant who failed to produce and why should it matter to you?

In Genesis, The first commandment to living creatures is ‘be fruitful and multiply’. “Be Fruitful” is the VERY first command. God wants us to be fruitful in our lives. We were not created to take up space and suck up air!

“Multiply” is the second command. It is not only the duty of each of us to be fruitful, but to multiply and grow this fruitfulness. Be it , production, reproduction or to be something, it is to be fruitful and multiplied.

Each person was created with a purpose and by the reading of the parable, our Master, God, is disgusted when we fail to be fruitful and multiply. ‘Wicked, lazy servant!’ are not very flattering words.

So, let’s ask ourselves; “Would God send me a Boaz who is not fruitful nor multiplying his talents?”

Ladies, evaluate well your potential Boaz. God will not send you anyone who He disapproves of by His own Word! Stop making excuses for “Mr. Right’s” Wrongs!

I’m not saying your Boaz has to be a brain surgeon, a wealthy business man or a rising star. What I am saying, is that if the only ‘talents’ your Boaz has is beer drinking, video game playing, baby making or excuse making; he might not be your real Boaz!

To be fruitful and multiply applies to YOU also! You cannot be fruitful and multiply with someone who is bearing no fruit nor multiplying his talents! Scripture says “A house divided cannot stand!” (Mark 3:25) You cannot move ahead together if you are moving in two different directions.

Furthermore, God says, “Do not be unequally yoked.” (2 Corinthians 6:14) This warning is aimed at not being attached with unbelievers, but the context is similar any relationship. What does a woman who follows God and is trying build a progressing life with a great Boaz, have to do with a man who is less than spiritual and failing to be fruitful or multiply his talents?

Be careful that your ‘Boaz” doesn’t make you a worthless servant, instead of making you see and build upon your worth, by adding to your life and not taking away from it.

v.29 “For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”

Choose Wisely!

Honor Thy Mother

Honor Thy Mother

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Ephesians 6:1-3

Mom; There are very few titles that come with such a high honor as mom. Not only is honoring mom the first commandment from God with a promise, it is the first commandment from God to Eve; to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28); to become a mom.

You may be a mom, or you may not. You may have been raised by your mom or not. She may have been wonderful or less than stellar. You mom may have passed on, walked out or is still around. Maybe your mom is an adoptive mom or a foster or surrogate mom.

No matter what your ‘mom’ status is, it comes with great honor.

Many will agree, but for others whose mom leaves a bad taste in their mouth, to imagine honoring an absent, abusive, neglectful or bad mom is torture.

But a spiritual creature views things with spiritual eyes. You must look at life through the eyes of God. When God created Eve, He commanded her to become a mom, but we know that all life comes from God. So what does this mean?

Your mom, or you, if you are a mom, carries one of the highest honors in God’s reality. Moms are agents of God’s life stream! God perpetuates life through conception. The highest honor outside of God, is human life.

We are made in God’s image. The soul is eternal; it is sacred. It is so sacred that once it has been breathed to life by God, it cannot be destroyed! If ‘life’ holds this much importance, what level of honor is given to the life-bearer?

A mom has a sacred duty to God. Although the man co-produces the child, it is the mother’s body who houses the baby, feeds it, protects it and ultimately, delivers it. This is a work no substitute can do. It is cherished honor to work hand and hand with God and His creative process.

Mom --- is honored by God and should be honored by all. She may make mistakes, for she is human. She may not be ready to assume this awesome responsibility. She may be unfit to be a mom, but the honor is not ‘Not’ in who she “is or turns out to be”, the honor is in her part to give life!

In honoring MOM, we honor God, for it is God who is working with the mother to create life. In honoring mom, no matter what she may be, we say to God, “thank You, for I exist’.

Thank your mom this Mother’s Day. Thank God for your mom. Be thankful that you had a mother who brought you to term. Even if your life has not turned out exactly how you wished, with the gift of life comes the choice to find salvation in God and ultimately, the perfect life! Is that not worth being thankful for?

If you are a mom, I honor you and send you love. You have become a part of God’s divine plan to create and multiply. No matter if you have made the mistake of aborting your child, or felt the pain of miscarriage, or lost a child, or have your child with you in any capacity; life began when God breathe His Spirit into that form and that child is eternal. If that life was sadly cut short, know that he/she exist on the other side of perfection!

I salute you. I honor you. I love you.

To moms everywhere, God Bless You, and He has, for you have gained this title. To everyone else, God Bless You, for you have been blessed with a mom who gave you life. And your life matters! It is sacred!

God Bless you all this Mother’s Day. I pray that you see the depths of God’s love for you in the mother you were created from and/or the life you created. It is truly an honor to know that you are a huge part of God’s Master Plan!

Happy Mother’s Day and God Bless.

Labor Of Love

LABOR OF LOVE

Ruth trusted the LORD and He led her to her Boaz, a man who also sought after God. Boaz loved Ruth, but risked losing her to gain her hand in the proper manner. Boaz revealed his godly character and demonstrated to Ruth that he was willing to do whatever it took to win her hand.

Boaz was not just a man of words, but of action. His actions were not merely dinner and a movie, or a trip or jewels. Boaz backed up his heart with his reputation, his wallet and his integrity. Ruth had found her match and God was the match-maker. This was not the first time God directed true love.

In the Book of Genesis, we find God speaking to Jacob is chapter 28. God promises to bless Jacob and his descendants by multiplying them and giving them the lad before him. He also promises to be with Jacob and never leave him and will accomplish all the he promised.

Soon after, Jacob ‘happens’ to meet Rachel. Rachel, like Ruth, was also a hard worker; a shepherdess by trade. Jacob immediately falls in love and ask Rachel’s father, Laban, for her hand in marriage. Laban agrees….but only….if Jacob will work and serve him for seven years.

Let me ask you a question.

Why on earth would Jacob agree to; not just wait seven years for this woman, but ‘labor’ while he waits? Would your potential Boaz wait that long, let alone, work and prepare while he’s waiting for you?

Jacob must really loved Rachel. He must have also really trusted God. Remember that God promised to bless him with descendants. It is obvious that Jacob thought or knew she was the ‘ONE”!
Jacob worked seven years for Laban and scripture says, it felt like a few days, to Jacob! Talk about enjoying your work! Although, I think he was more enjoying the thought of marrying Rachel.

Laban throws a huge party and Jacob must have had a little too much to drink, because when he woke up, he realizes that Laban did a ‘bait and switch’. It was not Rachel beside Jacob in the bed, but her sister Leah!

What’s Jacob to do?! Leave this crazy family and accept his losses? Kidnap Rachel and take off? Get mad at God cause things didn’t work out? Just plain give up?

Nope

Jacob agrees to ‘another seven years’ of work and wait for Rachel! What?! Talk about commitment! Remember, these two aren’t even married! If Jacob was willing to do all this for Rachel, imagine how he would act ‘AFTER’ the wedding!

After another seven years, 14yrs total, Jacob is finally allowed to marry Rachel. As it turned out, Laban once more revealed himself to be a less than honest guy after Jacob married Rachel, but our focus is on the, now, happy couple.

Is your Boaz laboring like Jacob to win your heart? Is he patient and honest and willing to wait, not only to prove himself to you, but to build up trust in your heart?

Or is he rushing you; making threats and demands? Is he the type of man that tells you; “if you love me, you’d do it”? Is he showing you how ‘little’ he is willing to wait for you? Or are his true colors during the waiting period more like Laban? Dishonest, underhanded, abusive and/or selfish?

God has a plan for you like He had for Jacob. God ‘also” has a plan for your Boaz…and it involves “YOU”! Trusting God and recognizing God’s match for you will bless your life!

It may not come on your time schedule. It didn’t for Jacob. It may not be easy. It wasn’t for Jacob. You may have to keep your eyes and ears open. Jacob did. A curve ball or two may interfere, forcing you to make tough decisions. Jacob was hit by this.

But in the end, ask Jacob was it worth it!

Woman Of Impact

Woman Of Impact

When Catherine Lawes' husband, Lewis, became the warden on Sing
Sing prison in 1921, she was a young mother of three daughters. Everybody warned her never to step foot inside the walls. But she didn't listen to
them. When the first prison basketball game was held, in she went, three girls in tow, and took a seat in the bleachers with the inmates.

When she heard that one convicted murderer was blind, she taught him Braille so he could read. Upon learning of inmates who were hearing impaired, she studied sign language so they could communicate. For sixteen years Catherine Lawes softened the hard hearts of the men of Sing Sing.

The prisoners knew something was wrong when Lewis Lawes didn't report to work. Quickly the word spread that Catherine had been killed in a car accident. The following day as the acting warden took his early morning walk, he noticed a large gathering at the main gate. Every prisoner pressed against the fence. Eyes awash with tears. Faces solemn. No one spoke or moved.

The warden made a remarkable decision. "All right, men, you can go.
Just be sure to check in tonight." These were America's hardest criminals. But the warden unlocked the gate for them, and they walked without escort or guard to the home of Catherine Lawes to pay their last respects. And to a man, each one returned.

Catherine Lawes was a Woman Of Impact. She was not the smartest, not the richest, nor was she the most beautiful. What she was, was compassionate and loving. She made an impact by her spirit!

God has also give you the spirit to be a ‘World Changer’. Who knows if you will one day impact the world, your city, your workplace or your circle of friends and family? No matter who you are or what you station is in life, God wants to ‘USE’ you!

I speak a lot about your Wait On Your Boaz, but it also about each one of you. It’s about being the best ‘YOU’ God made you to be and having the most impactful life God intended for you, including finding your Boaz.

It’s all about giving and receiving. God wants both. He wants to bless you with your hearts desire, but He also wants you to give your life away to others in His Name. It’s a two way street and when you figure it out, your life will being to fall into place and make sense.

All too often, we as Christians, pray daily for our needs and wants and dream of things we’d like to experience. If we would only step back and ask God what He needs and wants of us, I believe we will truly find everything we are searching for.

Jesus was the greatest teacher of this principle:

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
Mark 10:43

And

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
James 4:3

In God’s economy, much of what we value is opposite. God is interested more interested in using you to make an impact for Him in the world and molding you into the image of His Son, Jesus. When you stop fighting God on what He needs and wants, you will begin to receive what you need and want.

Matthew 6”33 says: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you

Notice the order: seek ‘FIRST”….”THEN’ all things are added. So many of us are living life backwards; trying to get God to ‘add’ to us without ‘first seeking’, and when we don’t receive, we blame God, lack of faith, the devil and anyone and anything else we can think of.

Good things don’t always come to those who wait, but to those who do good while waiting. God has so much for, including your Boaz, but you must enter into His service.

Once you learn to let go of finding your Boaz….God will send Him. Be a Woman of Impact and God will impact your life. Trust God and see!
